Hermit the Crab

Hermit the Crab was a shy little thing and liked to be left alone. He would swirl in his shell which he liked very well, as this was his fine little home.

In tide pools he'd wade in the sun or the shade, for daily this was his thing. He'd search for his food in a shy little mood while the roaring waters would sing.

But one day Hermit ventured out on the beach in the late, late afternoon sun and a boy and his dog who were out for a jog stepped on Hermit and clobbered him one.

Poor little Hermit, his home was now crushed and he cried and he cried in the sand. Till someone picked him up and threw him back in by the twist of a wrist of a hand.

Then down in the shallows of the sea bed he found a seashell was floating alone. So Hermit crawled in and found once again a seashell that he could call home.

AAHHH so cute! I was so sad when his home got crushed, but what was meant for evil is turned good, now he has a new home. It's probably bigger with a spa and wide screen.

Awesome symbolism presented in such a positive little package! Sometimesventuring out of our small world is daunting... and sometimes things happen that crush us... and then? The change is complete, we're tossed back in, and all is right with the world in our newely altered state. =)

Wow Dawn! That's a whole lot deeper then even I was thinking! LOL...but now that you mention it, there are changes *afoot*! LOL

So what you're saying is this was your subconscious talking? ;-)

Maybe! But I started that poem months ago and just came back to finish it yesterday, only to ironically have it parallel my life. Though, I wouldn't even have caught it if that ingenious brain of *yours* didn't supose it in the first place!

Cute!!! My nephews love their hermit crabs and built a special wire home for them, much bigger than the little cages they sell at the Jersey Shore!

I really liked this friend.

I showed it to my roommate (for real) and he enjoyed it too.

David! Yes, I would agree... :) Thanks for the visit.

Dan- Really? You shared it with your roommate? Thanks for letting me know. I like it when people share my stuff :)
